I am an animator, filmmaker and educator based in Chicago. My work finds its most natural home in hybrid forms: digital and handmade, narrative and documentary. I studied animation at the National Film and Television School in the UK (MFA, Directing Animation) and at FAMU in Prague.
My films have been screened and awarded prizes at film festivals around the world, including Tribeca Film Festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival, Bucheon International Animation Festival, and Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia.
I also hold a B.Sc. in Comparative Regional Studies of Latin America and Asia at Georgetown University. Prior to my career in filmmaking, I worked in non-profit development across the cultural, education and USAID sectors, and then as a bilingual primary school teacher.
As a storyteller, I seek to work at the intersection of my professional paths - gathering and making sense of archives, oral histories, intergenerational narratives and youth perspectives. Using these as an inspiration, I craft stories that observe and engage, with a tender, playful, and irreverent feeling.
